Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Lookt, an email tracking tool for Gmail made up of a Chrome extension and a web dashboard (together, the “Service”). By installing the extension, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Lookt tells you when the emails you choose to track are opened, how many times, and roughly from where. It works by adding a small, invisible tracking pixel to the emails you send from Gmail. How we handle the data this produces is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

You sign in to Lookt with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure and for all activity that happens under your Lookt account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to use the Service.

You agree not to use Lookt to:

• send spam or unsolicited bulk email;
• harass, deceive, or unlawfully surveil any person, or track email in any way that breaks the law that applies to you or your recipients;
• break Google’s or any email provider’s terms, or attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or abuse the Service;
• resell or redistribute the Service without our permission.

You decide which emails to track and who you send them to. You are responsible for making sure your use of email tracking is lawful where you and your recipients are located. Some places require you to disclose tracking or obtain consent. Lookt offers an optional, unbranded tracking notice you can choose to include, but whether and how you comply with these laws is your responsibility, not ours.

The free plan is free, with no payment details required. Lookt Pro costs $2 per month, or $18 per year, and is billed through our payment provider, Razorpay. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from your settings. When you cancel, your Pro features stay active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable for partial periods. We may change our prices, and will give reasonable notice before a change affects you.

Open tracking relies on a recipient’s email client loading images, and privacy features such as Apple Mail Privacy Protection can pre-fetch images. For that reason an open is a strong signal, not absolute proof, and we do not guarantee that every open is detected or that every detected open reflects a real read. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, and we may add, change, or remove features over time.

Lookt, including its software, design, and branding, belongs to us. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the Service while you comply with these terms. The tracking data and email information in your account remain yours, and you may delete them at any time.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Lookt is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

You can stop using Lookt at any time and delete your account from the dashboard. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or use the Service in a way that could harm others or us. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be communicated where reasonable. Continuing to use Lookt after an update means you accept the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes any consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
