Privacy Policy

Lookt is an email tracking tool for Gmail. It tells you when the emails you choose to track are opened, how many times, and roughly from where. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.

We only collect what is needed to provide tracking:

• Account details. When you sign in with Google, we store your email address to identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.
• Tracking data. For each email you choose to track, we store the recipient address, the subject, and the time it was sent.
• Open events. When a tracked email is opened, we record the time, an approximate, city-level location, the device type, and the browser user agent. The location is derived from the opener’s IP address, but we store only an anonymized form of that address, not the full IP.

• We do not read, store, or scan the body of your emails.
• We do not track emails you have not chosen to track.
• We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
• We do not show ads or use your data for advertising.

The Lookt extension runs on Gmail to add read indicators to your sent emails and to let you turn on tracking when you send. It requests only the permissions it needs:

• Access to mail.google.com to show tracking status inside your inbox.
• Storage to keep you signed in on your own device.
• Notifications to alert you when a tracked email is opened.

Your data is stored securely with our infrastructure providers, Supabase (database) and Vercel (hosting). Approximate location is derived using a geolocation lookup over an encrypted connection, and we store only an anonymized form of the IP address (with the final part removed), never the full address.

Your tracking data is kept until you delete your account. You can do that yourself at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your account along with every tracked email, open and click recorded under it. To have specific tracked emails removed without closing your account, contact us at the address below and we will action it.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page.
